Anyone else wondering what happened to the month of September?

I finally picked up a bunch of heirloom pumpkins in the softest light gray-green at a little mom+pop market last weekend and pairing them with a sweet cornstalk wreath for the front door + a pop of rust orange colored mums in galvanized buckets. It all casts a lovely contrast to the deep burgundy tones of the brick on our house.

Our area was drenched for days with the remnants of Hurricane Ian that devastated portions of southwest Florida. My thoughts are with the residents who lost their lives and those trying to figure out how to rebuild their homes and communities during this difficult time.

If you are local to Washington, D.C. consider blocking your calendar for a few markets taking place over the next several weekends in the countryside - Ekster will be open this Saturday and Sunday with a barn packed with beautiful items for your home - picture above is of Caroline's property from my trip there last week, the Lucketts Fall Market takes place next weekend October 14-16

at the Clarke County Fairgrounds and Chartreuse & co. will be hosting its monthly

weekend sale October 21-23. More reasons to enjoy the crisp fall outdoors and find seasonal inspiration for your home!

Have a wonderful pumpkin-filled weekend and thank you for reading!
