weekend+notes | 2.25.22

As the days tick closer to the month of March, it seems like we have been waiting for Spring with more anticipation this year. Maybe it's the toll the pandemic has taken or the fact that colder weather persisted this winter in the D.C. area, in any case we could all use the start to a sunnier, brighter season - sooner rather than later.

To inch us just a little bit closer, this week's list of topics cover gardens, seaside home tours and affordable finds. Mindful of what is transpiring overseas, my thoughts are with any of you who have family or friends affected by the developing conflict in Ukraine.

Wishing you a restful weekend.

  1. First Lady Jill Biden selected interior designer Mark Sikes to decorate her East Wing office and as a huge fan of his classic style in his book Beautiful - More Beautiful is set to release later this fall - and work with director/producer Nancy Meyers and Reese Witherspoon, I can't wait to see what he accomplishes in the White House. You can read his announcement in this Town & Country article.

  2. Brooke and Steve Giannetti of Patina Farm have created their magic again with this stunning California home in the latest issue of Veranda.

  3. A simple idea to decorate elegant Easter eggs.

  4. Part Ikea - part Container Store, I first discovered Muji during a vacation in Japan and loved the notebooks and organizational products - now available in the States online or in stores in New York City, Boston and Portland.

  5. Notes on travel essentials when we are ready to book an adventure!

  6. These 99 Mindful Conversation Topics are interesting questions to ask yourself as much as diving in with others.

  7. Lauren Conrad shares 5 ways to spring clean your life.

  8. It's nearly impossible to find a favorite among these impeccable coastal home tours...

  9. In anticipation of traveling again and having enjoyed a stay at 1 Hotels during a visit to South Beach a few years ago, it would be fun to plan a trip to try out one of the brand's other properties.

  10. A behind-the-scenes peek into Georgianna Lane's Paris In Bloom. Her photography captures gorgeous flowers and European cities all wrapped up in one. Equally inspirational is her London In Bloom book and be sure to check out and follow her @georgiannalane.
