It's incredible to think that we have reached the two year mark of the reality of a pandemic setting in around the world... During these past months, we have adapted our schedules, changed our lives and are finally gaining a brighter outcome. With most everything returning to normal - even if completely altered, what was one of the first things you checked off your list that you had been looking forward to again and what are some positive habits you adopted that will stick with you? Travel was at the top of my list along with attending a concert or movie, visiting a museum and spending a couple of hours reading/writing in a local coffee shop. Taking more moments each day to stop, restore and replenish and celebrate the little details are pandemic benefits I hope to continue working into my day.
Here's a look at some of this week's happy finds - enjoy the weekend hopefully with a splash of sunshine!

After a period of two years with no eggs, the wait for a baby eaglet at the National Arboretum in Washington, D.C. is finally over with the arrival of DC9! Also back after a two year hiatus is the Washington National Cathedral's annual Flower Mart scheduled for May 6 and May 7. As a past board member of the All Hallows Guild, this event is planned behind-the-scenes by the board members all year and an important fundraising source supporting the Cathedral gardens and grounds. Although the highly anticipated tower tours and Tea in the Tour are not yet returning as a part of the program, the regular highlights will be there including performances, children's activities, food trucks, the antique carousel, various shopping tents with the knowledgeable Cathedral horticultural staff on hand to answer gardening questions and one of the most beautiful exhibits of the weekend - the international floral displays inside the nave of the Cathedral where Washington embassies create stunning arrangements representing each country's cultural heritage.
